Culture Vulture

This is a Griffon Vulture (Gyps fulvus). I used this handy site to help with the skeleton: http://www.skullsite.com/skeletons/Gypsfulvus.htm

I've been using a relatively new method for me. I draw out the anatomy with a mechanical pencil on tracing paper, then I scan it in and use 'solid color fill' layers with masks in Photoshop to give it a light wash of colour. I'm quite enjoying it!

Dog Day Afternoon

Hello! It has been such a long time since I posted! There is a story behind it. In August 2015 I was offered a job as a Lecturer in Concept Art at Teesside University. So, I relocated from Mokpo, South Korea to Middlesbrough, UK. It's coming up to a year since I started the job and to cut a long story short, it's the best job I've ever had!

Over this month I've had the luxury of being able to devote myself full-time to drawing again! There are a couple of creatures in the works, but for now, my first post in over a year is some anatomy studies of - my favourite - the doberman pinscher.

Thanks for reading!
Rosemary.
